BMW Dallas Marathon Festival Will Be First U.S. Marathon Course To Feature SuperStarch-based Energy Pouch ‘UCAN Edge’

(DALLAS)—The UCAN Company will return this year as an official sponsor of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival weekend, where it will debut its innovative new product UCAN Edge, the first and only SuperStarch-based energy product in a portable pouch.

“Races are a wonderful opportunity to bring people together in the spirit of health, fitness and community,” said Paul Lambert, president of the BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. “We’re excited to partner again with The UCAN Company and thrilled to be the first major race to feature this new product. We appreciate partnering with fantastic wellness companies like UCAN that equip our race participants of all distances with the fuel they need throughout their training season and as they cross the finish line.”

UCAN, which has been involved with the Dallas Marathon since 2018, originally debuted in an energy powder format and later branched off into several other formats such as energy bars. The launch of UCAN Edge is the first time the product has been sold in a pre-mixed, ready-toconsume pouch. Its key ingredient is SuperStarch, – the revolutionary energy source in UCAN nutrition products. SuperStarch is a naturally cooked non-GMO food starch that delivers a steady release of energy without a significant spike and crash in blood sugar levels. UCAN products powered by SuperStarch deliver hours of steady, long-lasting energy with no spike and crash for athletic performance, workouts and daily life.

“For years, runners have been seeking better alternatives to sugar laden products for managing their energy during a race,” says Shoba Murali, CEO & Founder of The UCAN Company. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer our one-of-a-kind SuperStarch energy in a portable format for Dallas Marathon runners for the first time on-course. UCAN Edge will keep them going strong throughout their race.”

The product fuels a wide range of elite and everyday athletes, from 4x Olympian and former Dallas Marathon elite ambassador Meb Keflezighi, to beginner runners training for fitness and looking to limit their sugar intake.

“UCAN Edge is a great, portable way to quickly get some slow-burning carbohydrate fuel in during training and races,” says Sara Hall, the 2nd fastest U.S. women’s marathoner in history. “Edge sits really well in my stomach. I don’t even notice it’s there besides the extra energy.”

As a series premier partner, The UCAN Company will provide on-course nutrition with UCAN Edge and finisher UCAN Energy bars during the 2021 festival weekend.

UCAN nutrition products are currently available in powder, pre-mixed, energy mix, and bar formats, in a variety of flavors, at more than 350 specialty run, bike, tri stores around the country, Lifetime gyms, and can be purchased online at ucan.co or on Amazon.
